Brazil’s Center for Weather Forecasting and Climate Studies (CPTEC) produces climate forecasts for the country that predict rainfall and temperature anomalies on a seasonal scale. CPTEC is considered to be the leading center for seasonal climate predictions in Brazil, and conducts seasonal climate research and operational forecast efforts, while also coordinating work with collaborating institutions and technicians. Its seasonal forecasts are created using the outputs from several global climate models, which are both generated in-house and by other climate centers in the world.
