Climate and health

Climate and Health: advancing the knowledge and practice of climate services for climate resilience in the health sector.

Climate Services for Health have been identified as a critical component of building climate resilience of the health sector. Tailored – applications such as heat indices, disease early warning, and integrated surveillance and modeling have been developed to help understand and prevent a wide range of health impacts – but are they working to manage risks and adapt health systems? This sessions aims to understand if and how climate services are being used to unlock potential to prevent climate-sensitive diseases, prepare for extreme weather events, and strengthen the climate intelligence of health systems to climate shocks and stresses.  The session invites abstracts to share what is working, how climate services have made a difference, and which highlight bottlenecks or issues that need attention to better inform and equip health partners to address climate risks.
