María Máñez Costa works in the Climate Impacts and Economics Department, as well as being visiting professor at the University of Valencia, Spain. Máñez Costa´s research explores the vulnerability and adaptive capacity of socio-ecological systems to climate change. Her research focuses on the development of capacities for adaptation to climate change and the development of methods for managing and communicating climate impacts.
She has coordinated various projects of the European Union, working on the topic of “Global change and ecological change“. Her work repeatedly focused on questions of climate and water economics.
